Hot Dog!

Hot Dog! This is my last post for today. Didn't have to work; so, I've been busy with challenges. I needed a masculine birthday card that wasn't serious. Hope this will do. It also works for two challenges this week. Again, Hot Dog!
I made this card with a digital stamp. It was a freebie from Pollycraft. I went back to find the link but couldn't. You may have better luck if you visit the site.
Challenges: Pollycraft- Animal
Cupcake Craft Challenge- Recipe (3 buttons, 2 papers, and ribbon)

School Set

I put together a "School Set" for the Cuttlebug Challenge. Found the little composition book at Walgreens. You can find some reallly neat things there to use for projects. I made the little apple box to hold "Jelly Belly" markers. Guess where I got those babies? Need to go back to Walgreens and get another one to complete the set.
This project will also work for the Cuttlebug Spot Challenge.

Other Hobbies

I do have other hobbies. Let's see, I love to read. Because my brain runs on only one track, it's one or the other. Can't seem to split time between them. It must have something to do with my Obsessive Disorder. lol

This week, the It's Finally Friday Challenge at the SPCC is about incorporating one of your hobbies in your paper creation.

I will also sneak this little project into another challenge later.

Book Club is this Friday. Guess what?? That's right, I haven't read the book! You're so smart.

Ahoy! Shake Your Booty!

Young grandson lives in Tampa where pirates are an everyday thing for him. I made this little milkbox container for when he comes to visit. We'll add coins during the visit whenever Gram (that would be me) has a reason to do so. On the last day we'll plunder the box and take our booty to the nearest ice cream store for a treat.

Two Challenges:
Create4Fun- milkbox
Pile it On- Round (dots and sentiment)

"EWE" Just Never Know!

What a surprise I received today! I was chosen as a new member  of the Design Team for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. I'm nervous and excited at the same time! Can't wait to start in on this adventure. I love adventures.
I hope this sheep is a female!

My Clear Stamp Storage System

I have to work this afternoon, so I'm showing a quick peek at my clear stamp storage system. I've taken ideas from browsing the Internet. I apologize for not giving name credit, but I can't remember where I got the ideas. I found a photo album at Walgreens. It has a heavy duty cover and spiral binding. I wanted the spiral binding to allow for expansion. It also had a thick plastic protective cover. I took this off and used it as I needed plastic cover sheets for some of my stamps. Each set is sandwiched between cardstock covered with clear packing tape and a plastic top. When I first started collecting stamps I stored them in CD cases; thus, I tossed the packaging and lost brand name, etc. I won't do that anymore. Now I can browse my stamps easily! I love it!!

Baby Card takes Three

Just a quick post before crashing for the night. It qualifies for three challenges:

Papertake Weekly Challenge

Stampin' for the Weekend

Cute Card Thursday

The Inner Self is Back!

The old Inner Self is back and she's not happy. I have to go back to time out until I get a few things done around the house. She just doesn't understand how much fun it is to participate in challenges. This will be my last post until she lets me out!
This card is for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. I just love using the cuttlebug embossing folder shown when someone mentions pearls.
I really hope to see you soon.

Meet McDuff

Bull's Eye! I finally hit the mark today! Love this card!! The little dog is McDuff. He is from Shirley's2girls BFF Maize Collection. Stamped and cut him out. That was not fun, but it was worth the trouble! The card is for the Twisted Thursday Challenge. Sketch + Red= Really cute card!

Bare Bones Card

This card looks a little bare. It's for two challenges. Wait a minute, I think I'll go add something. I'll be right back....

There, that's a little better. I've been off the mark so far today. Does that happen to you??
Challenges:
Hero Arts- coloring a Hero Arts stamp

Sparkle and Bling

Love stickles; but, I think I went a little bit too far. It's a good example of where less would have been a lot more. Oh well, I needed sparkle and bling for two challenges. I think this qualifies.
Challenges:
It's time for an afternoon nap!

Peeps

I love this little stamp. It always brings back a memory of visiting a chicken hatchery when I was a very small child. There were huge circular hatching things with overhead lights to keep the little peeps warm. Hundreds of them cheeping. Here's a few of them.
Challenges:
Animals

Free Friday

I'm free today! Almost! Hair appt., grocery shopping, errands, and clean house top the list. Once those things are out of the way, I'm free.

Just a quick post this morning-
Simon Says Challenge is back to school.
Paper Play is back to school.

Celebrate

These little stamps came from Impression Obsession. They are so cute. Used them for Midnight Madness Challenge sketch.

Some Like it Hot

The XO stamp was in my grab bag salad pack from Impression Obsession. When I first looked at it, I thought I'd never have a use for this stamp.
Never say never.
The Cuttlebug Spot Challenge is to use the word hot somewhere on the card as inpired by the hot days of summer. There's nothing hotter than a summer romance...
The ABC Challenge is C is for circles. As luck would have it, my post for today has circles on it! I'm in!!!

Confession

I just went to McDonald's and ordered a Kid's Happy Meal!! Just couldn't resist because this is the best Happy Meal gift ever!! Fortunately, I still had my grandson's car seat in the back of my wagon, so I looked legit! May have given myself away when I ordered a diet coke to go with it. Do you need to borrow my car seat?

The American girl featured is Kaya and she's adventuresome. Sounds like my kind of girl.

Look what's inside! Paperdolls!!!! Be still my heart!! I grew up in the era of paperdolls!!! There's other little things included, too.

I wonder if my mother-in-law would enjoy a Happy Meal???

Just Give Me Purses and Shoes

I love purses and shoes. They are the embellishments of an outfit. After stating that, you would think I had purses and shoes to match every outfit in my wardrobe. I don't; but, my Inner Self does.
This purse is for the Cupcake Craft Challenge. Now all I need is a little pair of polka dot shoes.

Attitude

I love a kitty with an attitude. This one is no exception. You can always expect to see great inspiration at the Penny Black Challenge. Her stamps are great. This week's challenge was to add stitching. I added faux stitching to the faux lace trim. It also works for CPS Challenge sketch, OCC color challenge and Pile it On.

Fall is in the Air

We've had a couple of days of cool weather and it's triggered the "Let it be Fall" spirit in me. I love the fall. Give me crisp mornings, the smell of burning leaves, and sweater weather. If someone were to ask me, What season are you? The answer would be fall.

Here's a little card to kick off the season. It's for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge. Isn't is a "spooktacular" card!

BFF Mazie

This is Mazie from Shirley's 2 Girls. I want her energy! I've used it to do their Twisted Thursday challenge this week at S2G. The twist is to add something that was punched. I used my Creative Memories star punch to create the embellishment. It also works for the OCC color challenge.

Two Cup Day

I made this photo fuzzy because that's how I feel when it's a two cup day. In fact, today is just one of those days. The shape card was made for the Cuttlebug Challenge. I stamped the background with a Hero Arts stamp and used my favorite fella, Changito. That little guy always puts a smile on my face even on a two cup day.

Keeping it Simple

I thought keeping it simple would save time. Nope. I spent just as much time on this little gift card as I have on any card. I really don't know why. It's for Caardvarks' color challenge.

That's all for today. I'm going to go read. Yes, it's okay to have other interests.

Birthday Card

I've actually done a lot today. It's almost 3:00 p.m. and I haven't crashed on the couch yet for an afternoon snooze.
I was able to put together this card for three challenges. It doesn't photograph well.
Challenges-
Color Throwdown- coral, brown, and teal
Cupcake Craft- "Sweet" Card
What next??

I Feel so Much Better!

No, I didn't post twice. I followed through on my idea from the previous post.

Amazing what a little bow will do to a card. Decided to add a bow for challenge three and four. Timeless Tuesday has a color challenge-Red, olive, black and a nuetral. The last challenge to submit is for the Midnight Madness sketch.

My Inner Self is speaking to me, AGAIN! She is saying enough for today!!!

Multiple Challenge Craziness

I'm not sure trying to get a card to work for multiple challenges is a good thing. This card is an an example of what I mean. It qualifies for four challenges, but it doesn't have the "kick" that I want in a card. It's suppose to be masculine. When I think masculine, it's say good bye to bows and bling. Just had an idea... More about it in my next post.

Pile it On and Creative Belli Challenges: Pile wants a masculine card and Belli wants no copic markers. I used waterbased Marvy to color the leaves.

Gift Card Holder

Here's my take on the Project Tuesday giftcard challenge.
I love House Mouse stamps! It also works for the Simon Says challenge. Oh, I forgot, OCC is doing Christmas, too.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

Love Pink and Green

I love this color combination. It works for the Daisy May Designs challenge where "The Word" is the focal point of the card.
I think the word "Celebrate" should be life's focal point, too.

I Want to go to the Beach

I had a great day in workworld; but, it left me exhausted. It took every ounce of energy to create this card. Luckily, I can enter it in three challenges. First, Cute Card Thursday's theme was "The Beach!" Second, Whimsy Stamps wants ribbion. Third, the ABC Challenge is looking for "B is for buttons." I was able to use my Silhouette for making the sun die cut. Gotta love Changito! He's one of my favorite fellas. The cuttlebug and a husband who has plenty of sandpaper came in handy, too.
The eyelids are closing. Good Night!

Birthday Card

Getting the jump on my September birthday cards with the Spoon Full of Sugar Sketch. It's such a busy card; so, I didn't add the six brads as shown in the sketch. Also, flipped the pattern around.
It's back to workworld in the morning. Good Night!

Another Challenge with a Purpose

When I saw PaperPlay's Challenge, I knew exactly what I was going to do for it. Since I'm in charge of making the reminder cards for this year's bunco club, I thought of my Impression Obsession shoe stamp! At first I was going to add ribbon down the left side, but it hid the embossing. Just decided to keep it simple. Less is more.
Not sure I want to make 12 more!

More Mini Backpacks!

After I made the first one, I couldn't stop! I kept thinking of friends from work who have young children starting school. Couldn't leave any of them out. Went to the store and bought little school supply things to fill them. They are just too cute. Day 170 of 365 Cards is Double Duty-A card that has a purpose! My kind of card.

More Challenges

Once I come up with a purpose for a project, it falls into place easily. This mini backback is going to be for a little guy who is starting kindergarten this year. To be honest, it's a lot cuter in real life. I made it for four challenges. Penny Black Saturday Challenge is a color challenge. I used blue, tan, and cream for the project. As luck would have it, Patti J. pointed me to the ABC Challenge. It is "Anything Goes" with animals as an option. Bingo! another challenge completed. Thanks Patti J. The third challenge is for Simon Says. Their challenge is for Anything but a card! Last, but not least, the Whimsy Stamps Challenge is featuring animals, too!

Card Patterns Weekly Sketch

My niece had a baby boy earlier this week, so I took the opportunity to create a card that would fit Card Patterns Weekly Sketch Challenge.
The little choo choo train is from my very first stamp set. One of the Flip Flop girls gave me a stamp set when they had a "grandma" shower for me. That was 17 months ago! Since then, my little stamp set has grown into a monster studio. I had no idea that there was a giant global cybersphere of card crafters. You meet a lot of talented people in the sphere!

Another Giveaway!

Jacqui at Cats Whiskers has a great giveaway! Go check it out!

Blog Candy Giveaway!

Bev at All the things I love is saying Thank You with a wonderful collection of stuff to give away. Zap yourself there!

What's a girl to do?

I'm trapped in my studio! Really!!!! Haven't had a chance to get dressed today; so, I'm in my p.j.s without a robe! Mac is downstairs visiting with a guy friend. You see where I'm going with this, right? Can't go downstairs until he leaves because I'm not properly attired. With the way Mac likes to talk, I may be here all day! What's a girl to do??
Of course, there are always challenges. Here's a card for two of them.
S2G has a pattern this week.
Crafty Creations wants yellow. It just so happens that I needed a baby shower card for a couple who has chosen not to know the sex of their baby. Perfect! Love a card with a purpose.

Verve Release Party

Cat and I participated in the Verve Release Party last night. You can't have a party without eats, so we made sure there was plenty! Even though we didn't win anything, it was a lot of fun. Laughter is good for the soul.
Where'd All My Money Go... has some blog candy to give away. Go to her site for details.

Two Challenges in One

While I'm waiting for Cat to get here, I thought I'd post another card. This one is for Pile It On and Cuttlebug Challenges. Pile It On wants no pattern paper. Cuttlebug requests a scene. I think this card does just that! It's one of my favorites.

Two Challenges in One

I think I posted this card before but can't find it. It works for two challenges this week. First, Stamp Something, wants something inspired by summer. I cook-out whenever I get the chance, so I think this works. Second, Day 165 of 365 Cards requests stars as the focus. I think this card does that, too. Good for two! I'm off to Hobby Hop with Cat! Yahoooooo!

Hero Arts Challenge

I made another little card for my grandson. He has two cats or "ats." The challenge was a sketch and a hero arts stamp. I know I have more than one h. stamp, but I haven't had time to sift through all my stamps. Inner Self says,
" Organize your stamps." Only problem, I can't decide on a good way to do it. Any ideas??

Card Patterns Weekly Sketch

Someone needs to tell me to stop! This is absolutely the last challenge I do today. My Inner Self is thinking time out, again! The card is for Card Patterns Weekly Sketch. Love the sentiment on the Stampendous Stamp!
You know, I forgot to eat breakfast. Guess I'll brunch it today.

Verve Challenge Completed!

Whew! I'm finished with this challenge!! Okay, I didn't make it to the grocery store as planned; but, I competed a goal. Completing goals are important.

Verve is having a Release Party on Friday. What does a person wear to a Release Party??

AVS Challenge Number Four

Put your sunglasses on because this card is bright, bright, bright! Used my favorite papers, The Citrus Collection, and SU ribbon. The stamp was from the bargin bin at The Treasure Box in Ft. Collins. So glad I don't have to go to workland until this afternoon! I hope to crank out card number five this morning. The sketch for it looks like the most challenging yet!

Verve Sketch Number Three

I needed a thank you note for the person who watched my dog and house while I was away. Saw it as an opportunity to do Verve Sketch Number Three. Two sketches to go! Good Night!

Verve Sketch Number Two

This is the second sketch for the Verve Challenge. Just used leftover scraps from the Our Creative Corner Challenge. Added some SU brads.
It's time to get busy on sketch three; however, I'm a wee bit tired tonight. It was a very busy day in workland.
