BOO!

GOTCHA!
Here's a little card I did for S2G The Twisted Thursday Challenge. They have a sketch this week with the added twist of having "Boo" somewhere on the card. I don't normally finish the inside of my cards, but this time it was a must. Please scroll down to open the card.

I do have an order for some Halloween stamps from S2G, but they haven't arrived yet. Peace Dog had to rescue me, again! I love that little dog.

Another Scarecrow

I liked the little scarecrow so much that I decided to use him again for the Spoon full of Sugar Challenge. It was fun to compare the two versions.

I'm tired tonight, so it's off to bed I go!
Night, All!

Belated Birthday or Apology Card

This is a multipurpose card. I'm always forgetting birthdays, etc.; so, I created this apology card. I added the leaves to make it fit a challenge. Digital Tuesday wants leaves and a digi. I hope this little guy qualifies. I snatched him off a free coloring book page somewhere in cyberspace. Guess that makes him a hybrid digi.

Scale

Yes, I know these tombstones are not to scale. I'm not to scale either; so, that makes it okay. This is my centerpiece for The Cuttlebug Challenge. I had a very difficult time with photographing this little project. Aside from being afraid of fire and living in fear that I would burn down my house, it was a fun challenge. If you enlarge the pix, you'll see authentic epitahs on each tombstone. Researched it on the Internet and found oodles. I embossed the bats with my Cuttlebug to give them some depth. Old graveyards always have tilted stones, so I attempted to do the same. Bad move. Too tired for a do over. Maybe in my next life...

New Home

My son and his new bride just put in a bid on a home. It's in negotiations at the moment. This is a card I made for them. When the sale is final, I'll snail mail it to them. We're keeping our fingers crossed.

Challenges:
Sunday Sketch & Stamp- sketch
Color Throwdown
Dare You 2 Digi- punches and a digi
Scrap and Stamp- distress

Christmas Card

If I do a lot of Christmas theme cards for challenges, I'll have it made for Christmas.

I'm finally finished! I've completed all the sketches. What a challenge in itself!

Where did Friday go??

Why do days off fly?? With running errands, I had little time to stamp. I managed to make a card for the Caardvarks Sketchfest. That's it!

Just Testing

I had to Zap across the cybersphere to Phanfare to find some of my pixs. I like this bird. It kind of reminds me of myself.

Techno Gadget is Too Cool

Guess where I am at this moment? I'm waiting for my car while it's being serviced! They have complimentary wifi. I'm able to check me email and work on my blog. Nice. I'm going to try to uplaod a pix... I'm doing all of this with my Ipod Touch.

Friday!

I love Fridays. This one is extra special because I'm at the beginning of a three day weekend! I'm sure you can guess what I'll be doing with most of the time. I'm considering locking my Inner Self in the closet; however, she is really helpful most of the time. I didn't just write that, did I?

Hoppy Birthday

Still working on coming up with a birthday card for my son. I don't know why I'm making this so difficult. He'll be 27 next week. Should be making a masculine card for him; but, I can't. He'll always be a fun loving kid to me.

Birthdays are Pink, Green, and Purple

This was suppose to be a birhtday card for my son. It started out blue and green. My Inner Self said, "That card is making me sick to my stomach." This time, I had to agree with her. I went back to my paper stash and was drawn to pink, green and purple. They are such happy birthday colors. I'm thinking my Abra Gadabra Card will work for my son's card if I add the sentiment, "Have a Hoppy Birthday!" My Inner Self is just shaking her head.
This card was made for Caardvarks:Sketchfest Tuesday.

I'm in the Dog House

Yes, I did a terrible thing the other day and didn't even know it until this morning. My husband, Mac, informed me that I had left the upright freezer door open!!! I had gone down to the basement on Friday to get some blocks of cheese for the Flip Flop Girls' Party. Apparently, the door didn't close all the way. It was full of meat and frozen meals. Everything had to be tossed! I get upset when I throw away bits of scrap paper. You can imagine how I felt about this. I must say Mac took it well. A lot of the meat was from his hunting trips; so, I expected him to hit the roof! He cleaned the royal mess and went on with his daily routine. You've got to love a man like that!

Love Bonus Days!

Since I had a bonus day off this week, I took advantage of it by making a few cards. It was a rainy day making it perfect for challenges:
Sketchfest- sketch
OCC- color combo (pink, brown, and white)

Abra Gadabra

The second Saturday of each month S2G has a "Digi Day" on the SNR Card Universe. I didn't have any printer ink when they played with this digi, so I had to substitute another S2G stamp (Peace Dog) that evening. Today, I printed the digi and created this card. It takes care of several challenges:

S2G Challenge- sketch and Halloween embellishment
PMS Monday- Punchy! No Nesties
Cupcake Craft Challenge- Distressing Technique
Pile it On- Punches

This card was created for The Caardvarks Sketchfest 2009. There's going to be a new sketch each day. Should be a lot of fun!

A Do Over

Have you ever wanted a Do Over? That's right, if you had a second chance, would you do it over to try to make it better? The House Mouse Challenge has given me that chance this week. The little pix was my first attempt. It was for the "Song" Challenge. This week's challenge was to redo your favorite challenge. Aside from the fact that it's my only House Mouse challenge, it's my favorite. The larger pix is the Do Over. I like second chances. Side note- I'm in this picture. That's me...the wall flower. Did you spot me?
Challenges:
House Mouse- Do Over
CPS- sketch
I think I need another Do Over. Should add a sentiment. Next time...

Album

Here's a little album that I made for the Cuttlebug Challenge. The image is a digital stamp. For the life of me, I can't find where I got this one. When I do, I'll give it credit. Does anyone recognize it? I definitely need a better system for organizing my digital stamps. One more thing to put on the "to do" list.
It also works for Little Paper Shop. They have some great new stamps. Go take a peek!

Self Analysis

Here's an attempt to do something that isn't my style. It's for the ICS DT Call. It's my interpretation of the sketch given. I like quotes, so I started with one. Went to my stash and chose papers that were part of a kit that I've never used. Decided to waste not. You know, stripes are really hard to work with when making a card. Like the quote and the ribbon with the little bow. Stripes and colors not so good. Don't feel good about it, so I'm not going to submit it. There, self analysis finished! I've got to feel good about a card. It's just not there with this one.

You may be interested in the call:

After a wonderful week long visit with my daughter and her family, it's back to reality. I go back to work today. Comfort Food

Okay, I'm bored. It's really hard to sit in an airport when one's attention span is about the size of a gnat's brain. Found this recipe at the Recipezaar. It's one of twenty-five freezer friendly recipes. I like that idea. It would be a good thing to make and freeze these dishes. May give it a go. If you click on the link, you'll see a list of the recipes. Let me know if you test any of them.

Now what??? Only have an hour and 15 minutes to wait...

Happy Birthday to Me!

Here's a picture of my latest techno gadget. It's an Ipod Touch!!! It's my birthday present to myself. It's one fabulous device! I can keep in touch  with any  free wifi connection. A connection comes in handy when you're sitting in an airport for hours. Guess what I'm doing right now? That's right, I'm sitting in the Tampa airport for hours. My flight doesn't leave until 11:15 am; but, I  had to be dropped off at 6:30 am!! DD has to be at work at 7:00am! Cruising  in Tampa is like driving in the Indianapolis 500.

So today is my birthday! I'm 58. Don't feel old. At what point does a person feel old? I use to think 40 was old. Then, I thought 50 was old.

The only birthday must is a good old fashion, store bought birthday cake with the rosette flowers on top. It must be chocolate with white icing. That's all I want. That's all.

Lunch with Will

Will loves blueberries! He loves them so much that he turns into one when he eats them. By the the time he was finished, he looked like PaPa Smurf. I figured out a way to get him to smile in every pix. I just say, "What does Benson say?" He pants. The pant looks like a smile, doesn't it. You'll learn all kinds of things from reading my blog.

Later...

Better than Making Cards

Here's one thing better than making cards. This little guy is my grandson. We're spending the day together. Can't wait to see what kind of trouble we can get into while his parents are at work. Right now, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse has his attention.

Yep, haven't made a single card. Everything is packed and ready for the return home trip. I think I packed the scissors. I'll have to open the little black case to get them out. That will be like taking a kid into a candy store. Will I be able to resist???? Just one little challenge....We'll see.

Too Much Candy Will Make You Sick

My Inner Self is saying, "I told you so!" I think I'm sick of doing challenges! I've done too many over the past several days. It's time to take a short break. I'm taking tomorrow and Tuesday off! That's right, no challenges!! Do you think I can do it???  I hear you placing bets. I do. I'll keep you posted.

This challenge is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch.

I Love Pink and Green

When I came across the The Cute Card Thursday Challenge, it took about a nanosecond to decide to do it. Why?? They wanted pink and green. I love pink and green!! I combined it with The Penny Black Saturday Challenge and The Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Challenge. Once again, I used my plastic mesh grid to create my own DP.

S2Girls Digi Day

Last night, S2Girls had a digiday on the SNR Card Universe. I made this little card during the event. You were suppose to download the free digi and create a fall theme with it. Since my daughter's printer is out of ink, I had to use Peace Dog. He's the only S2Girls stamp that I have with me.

You know, even though my supplies are limited, it's still been a fun challenge to work with what I have on hand. My Inner Self is saying, "Less is more.

This little guy needed a challenge, and I found two for him. It's for The SoShelli Challenge. She has a fall theme challenge for the month of September. Also, Whimsy Stamps Challenge is need of fall colors.

Let's Party

This week's Cuttlebug Challenge was to make a gift box and card to match. Fortunately, I embossed a few pieces of cardstock before I left home. I wish I had done more. Next time, I will. Once again, the blues are really purple.

It's Purple!

I don't know about your computer monitor, but mine shows this card as blue and black. It's really purple and black. It looks better as purple and black. I made it for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge.

Jail Birds

I made this card for the Spoonful of Sugar Sketch. These little birds definitely look guilty.

Fall Card

This little card is for three challenges:

Mojo Monday- sketch
Lili of th eValley- green, brown, and orange
ABC Challenge- D is for die cut

Miss My Dog

One bad thing about traveling is that I can't take my little dog. I just couldn't cram him underneath the seat on an airplane. It would stress both of us too much. This card reminds me so much of the little guy. Even though he's seven years old, he still loves to party. Ask Cat, she knows.

This card is for three challenges"
EtsyInspired Challenge
OCC-fall
Stamp Something- Very embellishment
(I love ribbon! Give me ribbon! You can never have enough ribbon!)

Design Team Call- Sketch Saturday

Sketch Saturday is having a Design Team Call. You can go to the site for details. Here's my entry for this call. I had to fall back on Changito because, as you know, I'm limited to supplies at the moment. My Innner Self says, "Nothing ventured, nothing gained!" I took this as a go for it. What is your Inner Self saying to you??

Rain in the Sunshine State

I'm visiting my family in the Sunshine State where it is raining cats and dogs at the moment. When people hear that you're going to Fla., they think it's a vacation. It's not really one when you visit family. They work and must continue in their daily routines. The weekends are filled with running errands and getting ready for the new work week. When we can squeeze in an activity, then it becomes a mini holiday. We hope to go to the beach one day and the aquarium. Now you know how I have the time to create cards. I work when they are busy doing everyday life things and when they're asleep. It's a good deal for me because I don't have to rush off to work everytime I turn around. In that, I guess it is a vacation.

This card is for Caardvarks- a sketch

Necessity is the Mother of Creativity, Too.

My supply of DP is limited to Fall and Halloween; so, I had to make the black and white background paper for this card. I thought, if Cat can design her own paper, so can I. I used a square plastic canvas mesh to create the background. It allowed for all my dots to be equally spaced. Neat trick! I was going for all the stars in the universe. Actually, I needed a slap your knee funny card for the Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. You could put Changito on anything and it would make you laugh. Another challenge under my belt.

Peace Dog Does Halloween

Peace Dog is another adorable stamp from S2G. I altered him a little to fit the Halloween spirit. Don't have the oval nestability with me, so I used my scallop punch. If you squint, it sort of looks like an oval.

Grandson is taking a nap. I think I need a nap, too. Morning with the little one makes one tired Gram.

Twisted Thursday Challenge

Monster Mash

I love House Mouse Stamps. They are as cute as a bug's ear. Are bug ears really cute? Do bugs even have ears? Such deep questions entering my brain tonight. The House Mouse Challenge is a Song Title or lyrics. Can you guess the song? I'll give you a hint, look at the title of this entry. Those of you who are close to my age, are humming the song right this very minute, right? It was a graveyard smash. I used the masking technique with three of the stamps. If I had the time to do it again, I would cut them out like the bat and pop them out. It's funny how a pix will get you thinking about changes. "It's only a card," says my Inner Self. I'm in a rambling mood tonight. It also qualifies for the Colour Create Challenge.

House Mouse- song
Colour Create- neon green and black

Missing the Cuttlebug

I really feel frustrated not having my Cuttlebug with me. I'm able to make circles with my old Creative Memories Cutting System; but, I can't do scallops. I love scallops. It's hard to tell, but the berries on the tree are ruby red. This card is for three challenges:

Color Throwdown- pumpkin, cocoa, and ruby red
Treehouse Challenge- Fall
Crazy4 Challenges- sketch

Life is Sweet

Everyone goes to bed early around here. That's how I'm able to work on challenges. I've become a night owl since I've started blogging, and I'm still an early bird. Six hours of sleep works for me.

This morning I made this little card for two challenges. I love this card. It makes me happy when I look at it. Oh, the simple things in life...sweet.
