Digital-Ink Co Challenge and freebie!

Today is the day! It's my first challenge as a DT for Digital-Ink Co. Challenge. The challenge is to create any paper craft using a line or theme from any holiday song. Prize for this challenge is from Cosmo Cricket! Also, the challenge has prizes for 2nd, and 3rd place. There is an opportunity for you to get a freebie image!

I love this song because it always reminds me of the the movie "Home Alone." It is such a cute movie. The cute little guy is Morty Moose. He was created by Sewn Together. I made three of him because it's more fun to dance in a group. You can purchase him at the Digital-Ink Co. Click the banner on my sidebar to take you there.

Make sure you stop by Digital-Ink Co. and meet the new Design Team. They are a lively group and are always ready for a good time. So start dancing and prancing your way over there and join in the fun.

Can't wait to see what you do with this challenge.

Stamptacular Sunday- Weave It!

Today's challenge at Stamptacular Sunday is to incorporate weaving. I chose to weave a little paper gift basket. Make sure you stop by the SSC for the weekly challenge.
My Inner Self  "read the riot act" to me as I drove to work this morning. You guessed it, I'm back in "time out" until after Christmas!!!! I'm allowed to work on commitments and post daily, but no challenges!!!!  I'm feeling the withdrawl.

Where's Georgia?

Another Black Friday under my belt! Since I'm too tired to even think about a challenge, I've posted a picture of  a location I visited several years ago. So, Where's Georgia?? Me, not the state. The first person to comment to me with the correct answer will get a small surprise package in the mail. That's it!

I'm in Love

This little digi stamp looks a lot like my dog. While I was perusing Mo's Digitial Pencil store, this little guy barked at me. It was love at first sight. I had to take him home. The wonders of  the Internet....I had him in my hands in about a nanosecond!!

Fighting a Nap

Since I have to get up at 1:00am to get ready to go to work, I'm fighting taking a traditional Thanksgiving Day nap. The way I figure it, I need to go to bed at 6:00pm. Thought I'd take care of a couple of posts as my means of defense against the zzzzz's.

I showed this card a couple of weeks ago, but I never used it in a challenge; so, I hope it qualifies as being new.

The Image is a Vintage Hybrid Digi. It was downloaded as part of the goodies I received when I took the Funky Fairys Twelve Days of Christmas Workshop. I kept it simple and updated it a little with the polka-dot bow.

Challenges:
Pals Paper Arts- Keep it Simple
Robyn Fetish Challenge-Shabby Chic or Vintage Style

Merry Christmas

Thanksgiving Day is here so it's officially the holiday season. Let me be the first to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday season. This is the pix that will go in my store bought Christmas cards. I don't do a holiday letter because one picture says it all. We have had another truly blessed year.

Enjoy today and have fun!

Bermuda Triangle

Yes, there is really a Bermuda Triangle, and its portal is in my studio. Most recent victims are my scor-pal bone thingy and an unopened package of rhinestones. These are not small items. How can they just disappear without a trace??

Went to bed at 7:00pm last night!! The side effect of working in retail at this time of year. As a department supervisor, getting my department ready for "Black Friday" is no easy feat. Have to clock in today at 6:00am!!!

Got to run!!!

Challenges:
Friday Sketchers- sketch
Ink About Me- embossing

Sometimes I Love My Innner Self

My Inner Self caught me off guard today! She's been quiet for a long time, and I was beginning to wonder if she had completely given up on me. Well, as I was contemplating different designs for my Christmas card, she spoke. In short, she said that it was okay to buy cards to send to family and friends. She reminded me that my Christmas challenge cards could go to all the young great nieces and nephews in my family. Of course, my grandson can have more than one. Whew! What a relief! Christmas should come without stress. I'm one step closer...

Moonbow

Yes, there is such a thing as a moonbow. It's the same as a rainbow except it's made by the moon. I've never seen one, but they do exsist. Stay with me, it has something to do with this card. Stampin' B's want black, white, red, and a moon. I really tried to put a moon on this card. It jut didn't look right. It needed a little punch. Opted for a bow; thus, you have a "moonbow." I know it's a stretch, but I hope they'll take it.

Challenges:
Stampin B's- red, white, black, and moon

Back to the Real World

After a wonderful three day week-end, it's back to the real world. My work schedule for the next month will be a challenge in itself! Not sure what I'll do about card challenges. I want to mass produce some Christmas cards, but can't decide on a design. It needs to be simple and require no extra postage. Good bye wonderful ribbons and embellishments! I think this is a Challenge Myself. I haven't done that in awhile.

Challenges:
Papertake Weekly- sketch
Caardvarks- Color it

Stamptacular Sunday

Several posts ago, I stated that I was finished with fall cards for the year; however, I forgot about this week's challenge at Stamptacular Sunday! The challenge is to make a Nature Inspired card and use fall colors. I was able to get around my statement by using a little snowman. His arms are little twigs from my garden. I think they are so cute. I'm sure it has snowed somewhere during this month.

Please zip over to the challenge to see all the other inspriational cards. While you there...take the challenge!

All is Quiet

Inner Self is still quiet??? I think she's waiting to see if I actually clean my studio tonight. I'm not taking any chances, I'm going to clean it. I promise. Do you think she's using reverse psychology???

The only thing I like better than making cards is making little containers. They are so much fun to build and decorate.

My Inner Self has been too Quiet!

I think trouble is brewing in paradise. My Inner Self hasn't spoken to me in awhile. I'm thinking she's getting ready to let me have it because I've let a lot slide this week. I'll keep you posted...

I have three days in a row off! Had to kick it off with a card. This is a digi from Whimsie Doodles. I really love the sentiment that came with the set. I wouldn't mind getting "muffin" for Christmas. I wouldn't mind getting "muffin" just about anytime.

Twelve Days of Christmas

I found this cookie tin at the Dollar General Store. As soon as my eyes saw it, I new it needed to be altered. For $5.00 you got the large tin and 15 individually wrapped chocolate chip cookies. My "new" math told me that at that price, the tin was free! Now what did I do with it???

Hint- It involves my grandson and his Christmas visit this year.....

Scroll down....

I used the tin to house little gift boxes. Each box has a little candy treat inside. Everyday we'll visit the tin for a little gift. He won't be here for 12 days, so his mother will get one, too.

Here's the candy I found for the treats.

Challenges:

Night shift! Ugh!....Off to work I go!!!

Closing the Fall Season

I'm closing the fall season with this final fall card. I won the Stamp Set on a Blog Hop from Stamps and Smiles. I know it's not even Thanksgiving, but I'm ready to focus a 100% on Christmas. As you get older, the time between Halloween and Christmas becomes shorter and shorter. If I don't change my focus now, I won't enjoy the season. That would be very wrong.

After a week of vacation, it's back to the grind tomorrow. Bring it on...

Challenges:
Card Patterns- sketch
OCC- pix inspiration
Spoonful of Sugar- Create a Scene

Cream Cheese Something

Last night was the first time I'd been to Bunco in a few months. I really missed the great food everyone brings. One friend brought the best cream cheese pastry dish! I scratched out the recipe on a small piece of scratch paper. Here it is for you to enjoy:
Cheesecake Something
2 cans of crescent rolls
2 pkg. of cream chesse, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
3/4 cup sugar
Spread across 1st layer of crescent rolls in a 9 x 12 pan
Mix cream cheese, 2tsp. vanilla, and 3/4 c. sugar. Spread on top of first layer
Spread across a 2nd layer of crescent rolls
Topping- 1 stick of  butter
                2 tsp. cinnamon
                3/4 c. sugar
Melt butter. Add sugar and cinnamon. Spread across top layer. Bake at 375 for 25 min.

Cat and I are off to Hobby Hop today. It's been too long!!! It's Friday the 13th! Be careful!!!!

Flylady to the Rescue!

Since I don't have any cards or new pix of gandbaby, I thought I would post one of my secret weapons! If you have trouble balancing housework with all the other stuff life tosses at you, meet the Flylady! She is the diva of getting control of your home. If you follow her plan, you'll have a self cleaning house in no time! I have fallen off the "Flylady Wagon" a few times. When I do, my house turns to chaos! Her service is free!! Here's a link to her site.

This is my last day in the sunshine state. My daughter scheduled an appointment for Will to have his check-up! I'm the grandma who always gets to go to these appointments. I hope he doesn't start associating me with  shots!

Play Ball!

My little guy loves to play ball! His daddy played college ball, so I guess he gets this love from him. You may have noticed the wind blown hair. Yes, Ida is still brewing. I'm thinking it will be lots of rain today and tomorrow. Looks like the panhandle is the target.
I am becoming a widget and background junkie! Spent a great deal of time last night searching for neat little widgets. What next???

Recipes

When the leaves start to fall, my Inner Self starts to whisper about spending some time in the kitchen. I love to test recipes. If it weren't for the clean-up, I'd cook/bake all the time. Over the years, I've developed a few tricks to make this job easier. The number one trick is to start with an empty dishwasher and a sink filled with hot soapy water. I think you can take it from there. Since I'm not making papercrafts, I've been surfing the net for great recipe sites. There are a lot out there. Here's my top ten:

1.Allrecipes- This is my favorite site. I love reading the reviews before testing the recipe. It also has a make a grocery list feature.

2.Recipezaar- I subscribe to their email posts. I've gotten some great recipes over the years.

3.CooksRecipes- I like how this site is organized. It's a great resource site.

4.Ichef- What makes this site fun is the interactive game call Meal or No Meal! Spent more time playing the game than looking for recipes.

5.FreeAllRecipes- This is another well organized site.

6.Nancy's Kitchen- This site has a list of the top 100 recipe sites. What more could you ask for??

7.Recipe Goldmine- Don't like the way this site is organized; but, I like that it has copycat restaurant recipes.

8.FreeCookingRecipes- This site has a wild game section. My husband, Mac, would like this site.

9.Your Grandma's Recipes- A small collection of  "old" recipes. I recognized a few. I guess I'm not that old!

10. Easy Breezy Recipes- This should be higher on the list, but I found it after I made the top ten. It was easier to put it here. The title says it all. I like easy!!

Mewwy Christmas

This week's Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is a sketch. Flipped it to create this little Christmas card. It was a bit of a challenge until I came across the cat stamp. What fun! A cat with socks and hat! This cat would make any sketch adorable. Hope you join us this week at the SSC.

Grandma Moments

I had my first real grandma moments yesterday. After I arrived, my daughter and I went to the childcare center to get Will. When he saw me, he made a classic expression of surprise and happiness to see me. He actually recognized me! He jumped up from his toys and ran to me. My heart melted. He stuck to me like glue the rest of the day. How neat is that! At bedtime, I read him "Horton Hatches an Egg." It held his attention! What fun!

This pix was taken this morning. I think you're going to have to put up with daily pix since I'm not making cards while I'm here. This is where my little piece of cyberspace becomes a hodgepodge of my interests.

Even Cats have Dreams

I couldn't resist a Twisted Thursday Challenge. Even though you don't have to use S2G stamps, I do because I'm in love with them. This one is a digital. I love both rubber and digital stamps; however, it's always nice to be able to purchase one in an instant for a project.

I'll be catching a plane in a few hours. Husband, mother-in-law and our herd of dogs are staying behind. Herd of dogs are a problem when one wants to travel. Actually, we have one house dog, two outside hunting dogs, and a cat who perfers to live on the back porch. During the winter, Mac pulls out the heated cat condo for him. Life on the covered porch/veranda isn't a bad place to be when your a cat.

Other Challenges: Two Red Bananas- color challenge
Simon Says Stamp- Thanksgiving

Need a Do Over

This little gift box is definitely missing something. I'm in a hurry, so it will have to do for now. I wanted to get one more project finished for the Funky Fairy Workshop before leaving for Florida tomorrow.

I've decide to take only my laptop and camera with me. No cardmaking supplies! Time with my grandson is top priority. I did pretty well when I was in Arizona last month.

I'll be blogging without cards. hmmm.....

Altered Notebook

My favorite shape is the square. When I found this square notebook at the Dollar Tree, I new it would be perfect for the Funky Fairy Workshop. She showed us a way to make a "Bind-it-All" notebook without the Bind-it-All. Aren't her digi papers great!
After looking at this pix, it doesn't look square. It's  because I layered the sections. When the book is closed and flat, it's a square.
What's your favorite shape??

Tricks of the Trade Tuesday!

Benson has nothing to do with today's trick; however, he can do tricks when shown a biscuit. He'll do anything for a biscuit.

I love the look of a three column blog. For some reason, blogger doesn't have a three column template. Here's a link to a site where it explains how to go from a two column to a three column blog. I was able to do it without distroying my computer. Actually, it was quite easy. Make sure you follow the direction about saving a copy of your blog before doing it. An ounce of prevention is worth a .....

The Cutest Blog on the Block has several three column templates. Have fun!

Shadow Box

Here's a little Shadow Box I made with Funky Fairy paper. The little dog in the picture is Benson. He's a fun loving party guy.

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Halloween is history. It's on to Christmas.  I think this is the third Christmas card for me this year. Haven't decided what to do about sending cards. Need to design one that is US Mail friendly. I think square cards are my favorite, but making a ton of envelopes is not my idea of fun. I'll have to ponder for awhile. I'm rambling...

Yesterday was the first day of the two week workshop presented by The Funky Fairy. We had two projects to complete. This little card is one of them. As part of the workshop fee, she provides all the directions, digital papers, and digital images. Included were a ton of digital vintage images to choose from to make a card.  Over the next couple of weeks I'll be posting my projects in lieu of challenges. In a way, these projects are challenges.

Purrfect Friend

It's another Stamptacular Sunday! Today's challenge is to make a card for that special someone letting her/him know how much their friendship means to you! The catch...make your own background pattern paper/cardstock. My background was made with a little heart and dot stamp. What fun! Saved a little $$$ making my own paper. I like that. The circular digi was created by ME! It was my first attempt at using Photoshop Elements to write in the round. It was definitely a challenge for me. When I have more time...I'll work at perfecting it.
Inside the little card are two pockets for tea bags. I wonder who will be getting this card?? The cat may be the give away clue.
