Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras season is here! Shirley's 2 Girls have some really cute Mardi Gras digi stamps. I used one of them to make a centerpiece. It's hard to see the glitter, but they have a lot of bling in real life. Trust me, they do. What was life like without Stickles? If you haven't been to S2G store lately, go check it out. They keep adding new stuff all the time. Next week, you're in for a really big surprise...

Shirley's 2 Girls (S2G)

I belong to a small group called "Martini Madness!" We meet four times a year, try a new martini recipe, and spend time together. When I saw Zola does Mardi Gras, I knew she would be perfect for when I host the gathering. We won't be meeting until after Mardi Gras, but I'm sure Zola won't mind...

(side note- I think I'm going to add a little more to the recipe cards...hmmm??

No Mardi Gras theme would be complete without beads! Zola is all a glitter with beads. Once again, Stickles to the rescue. The S2G digi is the perfect topping for the swizzle stick.

S2G with a Chocolate Twist

I hope everyone had a chance to go on the S2G Blog Hop! It was a taste of some of the great things the two sisters have in store for us! They are really talented and are always full of surprises. You never know what twist they will take...Today's Twisted Thursday Challenge is another great sketch with the twist of chocolate. Need  inspiration?? Click the DT links on the sidebar to view some really talented work. Make sure you go to the S2G Challenge blog for deets and to post with Mr. Linky,

I work with a really nice lady who has fallen in love with Land O Lakes hot chocolate. She hasn't been able to find it where she shops. Well, I found it at my little local grocery. Instead of just telling her where to go to purchase it, I bought her a packet of it and made the little pillow box with tag to wrap it. I'm loving the S2G digi paper for gift wrapping.

Sometimes Less is More

Someone once told me that, "Sometimes Less is More." I thought of that when I made this little card. It has three elements that I love...square card, Penny Black stamp, and great paper. Thought about adding more, but the old Inner Self gave me the nudge to leave it alone. I'm trying to listen to my Inner Self more often...

It didn't take me long to find one of my many S2G stamps that would be perfect for this challenge. She's on sale, while they last, at Shirley's Two Girls. Mazie was so much fun to color. Rain Warnings!

I'm in Arizona at the moment creating a snowman card with "Rain Warnings!" in the news! I find that funny. I guess weather = t.v. ratings no matter where you live. On the serious side, rain out here can be very dangerous because of the flash flooding. That's really scary stuff! I like that they have a "Stupid Motorist" law. It's actually called that! If you get stuck in water due to you own stupidity, you may be charged for the rescue efforts.I like when laws actually hold someone accountable. I guess I better get off my "soapbox" for now...

ABC Challenge at S2G Twited Thursday

I love an ABC (anything but a card) Challenge! Using the S2G Digi, Hearts Aplenty, I've created several little gift ideas for Valentine's Day. Of course, you can use hearts any time. That's what so great about this digi set. It comes with three different heart accents. I love little boxes, and I searched the internet for just the right ones. There are hundreds of wonderful box templates and tutorials, but none suited my needs. My Inner Self suggested I design my own templates. That's just what I did.

This little gift box doubles as a gift card holder for gift card holders. It's always nice to have some gift card holders on hand for those last minute gift card gifts. No, it's not a tongue twister...

I made this to give to my son and his wife this week. Each cardholder has a gift card inside. It's a little housewarming gift for them.

Made my own DP paper on the inside by adding dots. I used the cute heart digi to make a boarder.

Now it's time for you to take the challenge! Click on over to the S2G Twisted Thursday Challenge. We would love for you to join us.

I'm Packed...

Well, the important things are packed! Here's what I'm taking to Az. Last time I went without any supplies and suffered from crafting withdrawl. It was serious. I finally found a shop that sold card kits. Purchased one and satisfied my thirst for crafting for about five minutes. Gluing bits of paper and ribbon was not very satisfying. Do you see my Copics?? Aren't they beautiful! Used my Christmas money to start my collection. I'm going to miss my nesties...

I Can't Believe I'm Posting This Pix

Yes, this is my bathroom floor. It's only 23 years old. It's yellowed just a bit. We want to install tile flooring. Panic has set in...I have to find something I can live with for the rest of my life. It's not like choosing paint. You can always paint over paint. Now you know why it's taken so long to take the plunge...My Inner Self is being very quiet. I think she's afraid, too.

It's time to pack for my trip to Arizona. I'm taking a few supplies so I can work on S2G Challenges. It's not too late to enter this week's challenge, if you hurry! There will be TWO Winners this week!!! If you enter, you'll have a chance to win any digi from their shop!! Check it out!

There's No Turning Back!

My husband, Mac, and I have finally taken the plunge into the "Money Pit!" It's been 14 years since we have done anything major to our home. Well, 2010 is the year for our Home Makeover. The only condition is to pay cash all the way! This has caused us to really think about what's important. I'm not sure we're off to a good start. I wanted to get going on hardwood flooring in the living room. I've saved for several years for it. My Mac started ripping off the wallpaer in our bathroom. Hmmm...who know where this will lead??  The picture is called Project Wallpaper Removal in the Master Bath. On days that I don't have anything else to post, you'll get an update. It may be a very long year...
                                             January 2010

P.S. I really liked my blue and white wallpaper. Is wallpaer out? Is it making a comeback?? I have five other rooms with wallpaper!! Ugh!!

Oooooo La La

My husband is in for a BIG surprise this year when he receives this Valentine! We've been married for 30 years, and I can honestly say I've never sent him an Oooo La La card. This year I'm spicing it up a bit!! Meet Zola (aka- Georgia), she's definitely a tease. This matchbbok card opens with a real surpries inside!  This is just one of several cute digi stamps that S2G has created for Valentine's Day. Make sure you click on over to the Twisted Thursday site for the deets. The twist is to add hearts. Become a follower so you don't miss out on all the great things we have planned for this year! Zola/Georgia predicts blog hops and digi days in the near future.

Stamptacular Sunday- Party Items

Happy New Year! I can't believe how quickly the past year flew! Hold on to your hats because it's a new year and we are going to be flying through the weeks with great challenges at the SSC. This week kicks off  the new year with a party theme.

Create a PROJECT that you can use at or for a party...any kind of party! Can be invitations, party favors, decorations or anything else you'd use or need at a party.

These little snowmen are book marks! Aren't they adorable!! They are the favors I'll be taking to my January bookclub gathering. They're folded like a card, so they could be used as invitations, too.  You can purchase the template digi at Whimsie Doodles.

Please follow the link to the SSC for the deets. Make it a New Year's Resolution to make the weekly challenge.
