I'm Ready for Spring!

This little card has put in the mood for spring! I'm ready to feel the sunshine on my shoulders. I'm ready for the smell of green grass. I'm ready for capri pants. The first of March begins tomorrow; so, it won't be long...

The cute little digi stamp is from Bugaboo.

The Good Old Days

This week's challenge at Stamptacular Sunday is the "Good Old Days." I grew up during a more simpler time before computers and color t.v. In fact, we were one of the first families in our small town to have a t.v.! I'm really not that old by today's standard (58), but who's counting...
As a kid, I loved paper dolls! I couldn't wait until McCall's magazine arrived in the mail. Each issue had a Betsy McCall page. I would spend hours sitting on the floor with scissors in hand and happily cut our each cute little outfit. Imagine my surprise and happiness when I found them on the Internet!!! I wanted to download all of them. I also wanted to sit on the floor and cut happily for hours, but adulthood and stiff old bones got in the way...

Create a project that replicates"The Good Old Days". This could be something that looks vintage or includes something that just reminds you of something from many years ago when you see it.

Great News!

Yesterday, I found out that I was selected to be on the Eat Cake Graphics Design Team! I'm so excited about this new adventure. Eat Cake Graphics is a rubber stamp company. They carry over 600 whimsical stamp images! They are both mounted and unmounted. Go have a look at  their really cute stamps. Can't wait to start inking...

You Won't Believe Your Eyes!

I can't believe it's the end of the  month long party celebration at S2G!! I hope you've had a chance to hop on over to the S2G Blog for a little shopping. Their stamps are so much fun! I got the inspiration for this photo from my BFF, Cat, who suggested Benson be the model for S2G's crown template. Since he's a natural "ham" and a party animal, he didn't hesitate to wear the crown. Of course, I told him it was blue and all big dogs wear them. I guess he believed me...

If you are need of a good laugh, go over to the S2G TT Blog! You'll also find the challenge and deets there. I'm just going to say one thing, "You won't believe your eyes..."

I finished purging my craft studio!! It's so nice to have a place for everything and everything in its place! My Inner Self is happy with me this evening. This is one of them. I made this card as  a comment to my Inner Self...

It's Stamptacular Sunday! This week's challenge is to create a project or a card that has as many circles on it as you can possibly include without making it quady. Can't wait to see what you do with this one...

Best Wishes

Wouldn't this make a great congrats on your engagement card! I just love this Sassy Cheryl's digi.
I finally started purging my studio today! I'm going to work on it an hour at a time until it's free of clutter!! It's so hard to let go of STUFF! I keep telling myself that if it's been in the closet for a year, it's just taking up prime real estate. I want a functional room. I've been blessed with a great place for paper crafting; so, it's time to make some improvments. Of course, this is about my millionth attempt at tackling this project...

Challenges:
Cupcake Crafts- keep it simple
SPCC- green, orange, yellow
Artful Inkables- naughty or nice
Fab 'n Funky- It's childish

It's Twisted Thursday!

We're continuing with our Birthday Celebration theme. This week's challenge at S2G is to make a shaker card! The twist is to add some confetti. You can do a google, "how to make a shaker card," and get a ton of tutorials. You can also cheat like I did! I purchased shaker card holders. That's the piece  in the center of this card. It costs a little more; but,  it's worth it when are in a time crunch deadline situation. To fill the holder, I used a Martha Stewart border punch. The little stars are the wasted part of the border. I'm being green, again...

My little grandson would love to have this card. I'll have to create a boy version. hmm...

Shake on over to the S2G blog for deets and inspiration!

I was "bearly" in the door...

I was "bearly" in the door when I made my first card since last week! Talk about withdrawl...This beary cute bear qualifies for several challenges. You wouldn't believe the list of challenges I've collected while I was in Fla. Okay, you probably do believe the long list. I've made a little dent with this card. I'm so beary lucky to have such a great hobby... Okay, I'll stop with the puns...

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

This little goat shows how I feel about leaving my daughter and her family. I'm so fortunate to be able to visit them on a regular basis and I'm grateful; however, I go into a "blue" period after the separation. Papercraft therapy is the best medicine for getting over this period. I'm sitting in the Tampa airport chomping at the bit to get home and make some cards. I have a list of challenges a mile long...
Reminders: Today's the last day for the S2G Blog Hop! Get Hopping and do it...
Also
Tomorrow is another S2G TT- We're going to "Shake it Up..."

Tuesday, February 16, 2010

This is my last day in the sunshine state. The picture is of my grandson icing and sprinkling cupcakes. For most people a trip to Florida means fun in the sun. For me, this little guy is my "Florida Sunshine!"

May have to change my name from Gram to Coco. I'm not sure I want to be called Coco...

My daughter is on modified bed rest (she calls it house arrest) for the rest of her pregnancy. She's been having strong contractions. Boy child number two needs to wait until his lungs are fully developed before making an entry into the world.

I go home tomorrow; but, something tells me that I'll be back before the March 21st due date...

Cheers...

JCBC Birthday Card

It's time for another Just Christmas and Birthday Card Challenge.  Click the link to the blog for the sketch and inspiration. I have used my favorite birthday stamp for this  card. It's none other than a S2G digi. This stamp is so much fun. I love the little critters! The dog reminds me so much of my dog when it comes to the fun loving personality type. Don't forget this is a two week challenge. Go do it right now so you don't forget! The Blog Hop continues at the S2G. Scroll down for more info.
My grandson and I are going to make cupcakes today. He loves the book, "If you Give a Cat a Cupcake."

Inspiration is Everywhere

This week's challenge over at Stamptacular Sunday is to create a  project, not a card, that includes some sort of treat.

My inspiration came from Walgreens. As I was walking down the Valentine candy isle, my eyes spotted a cute little box. It was love at "first sight." I brought it home and carefully took it apart to make a template. It was a little too big for a 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of cardstock, so I scanned and shrunk it to fit. For my first attempt, it's okay. My next one will be without the heart window. Besides inspiration everywhere, it's a good example of haste makes waste. I was in a rush to finish this before leaving for the "Sunshine" state; thus, I didn't redo it.

Happy Birthday S2G!
I absolutely love this digi stamp!!! I used dimensionals to make the cake pop off the birthday card. This digi is like getting two for one. The cake could stand alone for so many things....placecards....wedding card...gift card...etc.

No birthday party is complete without cake! Only thing better than cake....cupcakes! I created double-sided DP with S2G digital papers to make the pinwheel. No, I didn't make the cupcake; but, I could...

The inspiration for this game set is from my late Grandpa Jack. He started a mail order business from his basement. He created gag gifts for adults and simple games and toys for kids. One game was Tic Tac Zoo. Instead of X's and O's, he had picture cards of zoo animals. Another was called Hodge Podge. He took a miniature set of playing cards and cut each card in half. Spread out on a playing surface, you played the game like "Go Fish." These games actually sold during simpler times. I think I know where I got my love for making things...Thanks, Grandpa frosting Jack...

Let's see, few toys for grandson, few outfits for new baby (due March 21st) on the way, and last but not least, papercraft supplies...It's so hard to decide on what I might need. Stamptacular Sunday

I can't believe it's time for another Stamptacular Sunday Challenge. This week's challenge is to make a card or project telling someone you love them...Do it without hearts and get entered TWICE in the drawing for this week's prize.

I cheated...sort of... I made the little tag for this challenge; but, it's staged in a basket I made at Christmas time. I think that means I've gone "Green!" I'm recyling...that's a good thing...

Exciting News! Stamptacular Sunday is looking for new DT members!!!! Make sure when you head over there to see this week's inspiration, you have a look at the info for positions.

I think I know where she might be...

My Inner Self has been so quiet lately. In fact, I think she may have left this damp winter weather...If I were my Inner Self, I'd go where the ocean is a beautiful shade of blue and the sunshine glistens diamonds on a sandy beach. Do you think this is my Inner Self???

It's actually another wonderful digi stamp by Shirley's 2 Girls. It was so much fun to color and use my new Studio G glitter glue and some Stickles.
