Homeward Bound
I'm sitting in the Tampa Airport waiting for my flight home. It's a bittersweet farewell. I'm homesick and can't wait to sleep in my own bed, spend time with my husband, Mac, and kiss and hug my little dog. On the other hand, I have to leave my baby girl and her beautiful family. Things I've learned while away:
1. Florida isn't always warm.
2. My daughter is so much better at mothering than I ever was...
3. You can make cards sitting on the couch with just a box of a few supplies.
4. Babies and toddlers poop, a lot!
5. Even though I'm far away from home, I always have Internet friends nearby.
Next post will be from my beloved craft studio. Doesn't the word "studio" sound special.
I like it.
Take care and see you soon.

My Dog will do Anything for a Treat and My SSC Hop Winner
When I began to work on this card, I realized that Holly, over at Eat Cake Graphics, had made a stamp of my little dog! She's never seen my dog...How did she do that?? One thing about my dog is that he'll do anything for a treat. If that means sitting for hours, he would. Since it's an ice cream cone, he won't have to wait long...

Still have a few finished items to post and I'll spread them out over the next few days. I bought this stamp at The Dollar Tree last year. It's definitely a vacation Florida card.

Bookmark
I had to do a Walmart run the other day. I have such a Love/hate relationship with that store. I love how close it is to my daughter's house; but, I hate their check-out system. That's all I'm going to say...
I found this giant paperclip on clearance. Giant paperclips make great bookmarks. Bookmarks are hard for me. I don't normally do them because I'm rarely happy with the finished product. I like this one because I'm in love with Flopsy. His smile would make anything look good. Yes, it's another Eat Cake Graphics stamp. You've seen him a lot around here. It's going to be sad to put him into storage until next spring. Wait...maybe if I color the egg white and add white stitching...squint...baseball??

Remember, I'm not at home so I can't go to my stash for help. Enters my grandson...we go to Dollar Tree to get a toy. While there, I spotted a box of Peeps. I don't know about you, but I'm in love with Peeps. I grew-up with those sugary treats. I love them fresh, stale, microwaved...you name it. As I was eating them, I started examining the box. Does anyone else do that?? I've written enough...you know what happened... The flowers are from an unknown stamp.

Thinking of you...
Sometimes, less is more...I love when I find a challenge that wants a clean and simple card. No layered paper!!! eeekkkk! I love the layered look...I also love the clean and simple. It's been difficult doing challenges without any tools but a pr. of scissors! I broke down... and I went to JoAnn's yesterday to buy a papercutter. Of course, we all know, that one does not get out of a craft store with only one item. I bought one rubber stamp, ink pad, and a couple of pieces of DP. The flowers were made using the stamp I purchase. It's a Hero Arts rubber stamp. Rubber stamps come in handy when you don't have a working printer around.

While everyone else is making Easter and spring cards, I just had to ink this little guy and make a card with him. I chose the unmounted to save space. She has hundreds of cute stamps...

Last week, when my daughter was still in the hospital after delivering her baby, she was hungry for a Firehouse sub. I went to the local restaurant and placed a to go order. They gave me a tote to carry the softdrinks. The minute I saw it, I knew it had potential. It just so happens that I was able to make this little Easter basket for several challenges. Restless as a Lion in a Cage
It's been over a week since I've made a card!!! I'm getting restless. Found myself doing searches on the Internet for scrap stores in the area. I found two!! I'll be on the hunt for them soon. I left a box here last fall with a few basic supplies. I'll have to get it out and take an inventory of what I have on hand. You know you have it bad when you see the potential in a softdrink "to go" caddy...

S2G Twisted Thursday
It's time for another Twisted Thursday! Thanks to everyone who participated last week. Your response was wonderful. Today's challenge is Easter with a twist...the twist is pastels. My Easter Bunny is one of the many Easter digi the girls have at their store. Go take a peek. Don't forget to go to the challenge blog for the deets and inspiration on this week's challenge.
Times Have Changed...
This is a picture of my daughter 10 minutes after she delivered!! I wouldn't dare show you a picture 10 minutes after I delivered. Just imagine a beached whale with a hangover. It was not a pretty picture. When did they stop having babies in stainless steel delivery rooms where only the husband was allowed to enter? He wore scrubs from top to bottom. Not anymore...Today we sat in upholstered chairs and communicated to the outside world via various electronic devices. There wasn't a scrub or a footie cover in sight. Everyone was welcome to cheer on the pushing mother. I must say, to see the little head crown and a wonderful miracle pop out was amazing. Little Alex, at 8 lbs. 9 oz. was a joy to behold.
It wore me out...

You'll find this little mouse and other cute stamps at Eat Cake Graphics. I'm off to the hospital to await the arrival of grandson number two.

It's been a waiting game here in cool sunny Florida. If my daughter hasn't had her baby by Wednesday, they will induce. She's so ready! The only place where she has gained weight is in her belly. It looks like she has tucked a beachball under her top. We keep walking...

Mad as a Hatter?
I'm loving the new digi stamps from Shirley's 2 Girls. They are so much fun to color. Today's DT members, Cat and Lisa, have pulled out all the stops on the Mad Hatter. Do take the time to visit them. You won't regret it. They are masters of doing cards that are "Over the Top!"
There's still time to create something green for Twisted Thursday. Don't be late...
Inspiration is Everywhere
A few years ago my husband and I went on a Disney Cruise. On the last night, we ate dinner in a dining room that was decorated in black and white. On the walls were framed pictures of different Disney characters. They were in black and white. During the meal the characters would change colors. It wasn't until after I designed this sliding photo frame that it hit me. I had subconsciously used the black and white photo idea from that cruise.

Baby Makes Four
(Dollar is for demo purposes only!)
As I write this post I'm waiting for a call from daughter. She is due to have baby boy number two at any moment. We had a false alarm last Sunday night. I got a call from her from the hospital. To make a long story short, I made a flight reservation for the next morning. As I arrived at the airport gate, she called and told me that she was being sent home. I cancelled my flight on the spot. Now the wait game continues...
It's Stamptacular Sunday! The challenge is to make a baby something. My daughter will have two in diapers, so she's going to need diaper money. A money gift holder seemed the way to go.
For deets on this challenge, click here.
Drink Me Alice
It's my turn to present a new digi from Shirley's 2 Girls. Meet Drink Me Alice. Since everything is so backwards in Alice and Wonderland, I decided to put my ribbon and tag on the inside of the card. I really like the sentiment. It's definitely food for thought. Jeannie has made a card with Alice, also. Make sure to slide down the rabbit hole to her place.

Erin Go Bragh!
I'm a wee bit Irish. My grandmother came over from Ireland when she was 12 years old. A few years ago, I was lucky enough to travel to Ireland and visit her native country. What an exciting adventure! People warned me not to kiss the Blarney Stone because of all the germs! You can't go to Ireland and not Kiss the Blarney Stone... I combined an Eat Cake Graphics stamp (Herbert Mouse) with a stamp that was part of a Changito Monkey set to create this little St. Patty's Day card.

Tooth Fairy Tradition
I think traditions are very important. They are the things our children and grandchildren will remember. Those memories will be carried within them as they travel through life. That's important. I created this little Tooth Fairy Box for my grandson/s. When he/they lose a tooth, it goes in the little tulle wrap with the Tooth Fairy Sprinkles. It will be carefully placed in the tin box. The next morning the tooth will be gone and the box will have money or some other prize. This is my first project for Eat Cake Graphics! The little fairy is Pixie Poppy. You'll find her and hundreds of other cute rubber stamps at the Eat Cak Graphics Store.
