Simply Silver Moment

I had another Simply Silver moment the other day. My husband and I were having a conversation at the dinner table. He mentioned that our son suggested we get the extended warranty when purchasing a t.v. As the conversation went on, I mentioned that our daughter suggested we update our will. We looked at each other and started to laugh...Our children had started the process of becoming our "Care Givers." Where has the time gone? In the picture you see me as a young 30 year old holding Kelly on her first Christmas. That was yesterday...wasn't it??? Oh well, at least they didn't suggest we look at nursing homes...

Living Room Makeover

The air conditioner is out in my studio, so I'm only spending time here in short bursts. Don't have a project for today, so I decided to post before and after shots of my living room makeover. As mentioned in a previous post... when you start a home makeover project, it only creates more projects. In other words, Welcome to the Money Pit...

Changes:

Moved sectional sofa to studio

Moved entertainment cabinet to master bedroom

Removed carpeting and installed hardwood floors

Changed wall color

New sofa and loveseat

New "Man TV"

New entainment center to house "Man TV"

Crashed!

My body had a meltdown yesterday. I crashed on the sofa at about 8:30 pm. Next thing I new, it was 6:00am in the morning!! Needless to say, I didn't create anything last night. The photo shot shows some finds. The spools of ribbon were 69 cents each!!! Had to have the polka dot coffee mug. Love the sentiment, too.

My three day weekend is now history...

I made this little treat box for Project Tuesday and a couple of other challenges. Haven't decided what to fill it with, yet. Any ideas?? It's a little more formal than orginally planned...

Ohio Valley

Life in the Ohio Valley is unbearable this time of year because it's the height of allergy season. I usually escape from it's clutches, but not this year. I could really use a head replacement right now. The throat and the sinuses are fighting over which one should cause the most pain. Little do they know that my head is the winner in that department. That said, today's card is made with an Eat Cake Graphics stamp. I love Holly's work and it's always a joy to create with her stamps.

Psst! I've Got a Secret!

I just found out the girls (Shirley's 2 Girls- S2G) are putting together a cat and dog digi stamp collection for September!!! I'm so excited! I love it when they create critters! They are always so cute. This little guy is one of their older digi stamps. Let's not wake him...he may give away our little secret...Make it a fun day!

Home Sweet Home

I'm in the middle of decorating my living/family room. It was outdated and long overdue. The walls have been painted, hardwood flooring installed, area rugs purchased, and some new furniture will be delivered later this week. The interesting thing about home improvement projects is that they snowball into additional home improvement projects. Now my dining room, which adjoins the living/family room, looks dated...

August 4th Paper Scraps

I'm writing from my iPad. It's not very user friendly when it comes
to blog entries. I uploaded the picture before I left home. It's all HTML mumble jumble right now and that annoys me for some reason. The day will come when they have an app that will make me happy...
