food

I've eaten entirely too much food on this cruise...

Mahogany Bay

This picture was taken from our ski lift transportation to the beach. We spent the morning rafting, snorkeling, and kayaking.

Belize

I took the tender over to Belize. There's little to see and do at the dock. Since I was by myself, I didn't venture past the pier.

Here's a picture of my feet waiting to return to the ship-

Serenity

After breakfast I visited one of my favorite spots on the ship. It's called the Serenity Deck. It's a great place to start the day when there is no one around...definitely serene. Next stop...Belize

Casino Gift

A few cruises ago, I played the slot machines. There is a reason why they call them the one arm bandits. After losing a great deal of money, I went home unhappy with myself. I now have a winning strategy for when I cruise. Instead of gambling, I shop for things I would never buy for myself at home. It's a can't lose plan. With my "say no to the casino" money, I purchased a Philip Stein watch! Don't really believe in the "Natural Frequencies Inside" mumbo jumbo; but, it definitely makes me feel good about not visiting the ship's casino...

Happy Feet

I'm not sure why people take pictures of their feet. My feet posed nicely for this pic...

Zip Line

I survived the zip line trip through the jungle. Actually, it was easy to do...kind of like being a kid again...

Formal Night

Sophisticated Barry

One of my favorite things about cruising is dressing for dinner. In a world where everything is so casual, it's nice to have a time to be formal. It makes the evening special. I have a confession... As soon as the dinner is over, I rush back to the cabin and change into something more comfortable...if I could walk in three inch heels, it would be different...

Day at Sea

Today's agenda is to explore the entire ship... I'm avoiding the swimsuit for as long as possible.

Room

The first thing I noticed about this ship were the low ceilings. They appear to be lower because of all the detailed designs that incorporate the "Legends" theme. The elevators give the illusion of walking into a pyramid or tomb. The hallways are like labyrinths. I think I will find this fun when I get used to it. Once in the cabin, we found the room to be quite nice. It's bright and cheery with plenty of room. Our obstructed balcony is just as described...obstructed by a couple of lifeboats. I new that going in, so it doesn't bother me. It's nice to sit on a balcony while cruising. It's time for the muster drill..my last m. Drill is a very bad memory...hope history doesn't repeat itself...

Bon Voyage

Barry and I have been on several cruises; however, this is our first Carnival cruise. I've heard rumors about it being the "party" ship for the young and wild. It's also suppose to be low on the ship travel hierarchy. I guess this trip is a test for us. We chose it because it leaves from Tampa. It's about a twenty minute drive from Kelly's house. We shall see...

Why stop at 60?

I thought my birthday celebration ended on my birthday...nope... The "Flipflop Girls" had a special celebration for me on Friday. They are a very creative group...the gifts they gave me reflected their fun personalities and resourcefulness. An evening of food, drink, games, and laughter was the perfect way to close my 60 Day Celebration. Side note- I like to think of 60 as being the beginning of a new road with plenty of interesting twists and turns. I'm looking forward to traveling down it...

It's Here!

The BIG 60 is here! I don't feel any different; actually, I don't feel a bit close to 60. On the feel like meter, I'm at about 38. It's been so much fun celebrating each day for the past 60 days. My friend Kym played along and did 50 days of celebrating for her Sept. 13th birthday. The cute little mug was one of her gifts to me. It's now my official "make the day special" mug. Remember, life is a gift...celebrate each day!

First Time

This is day 46 of my 60 days of celebrating my 60th birthday. I've gone 59 years and 351 days without ever eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
That changed a few minutes ago...yep, I had my first pb&j. I was hoping that it would be the beginning of something wonderful...something I wished I had eaten sooner...that didn't happen. I think I could go another 59 years and 351 days without having another one...
