My Take on Pinterest Project- Chalk Painted Chairs
My life is driven by self-challenges and adventures. It's one of the perks of being in the silver years of life. I'm currently creating "my version" of DIY projects pinned to my Pinterest board. My latest challenge/adventure took me to a flea market where I found two wooden chairs at $8.95 each. It seemed the right price to experiment with chalk paint. If you would like the homemade recipe follow the link to liz marie blog. She's done a wonderful job explaining how to make the stuff. Since the chairs were wobbly, I took them apart and put them back together with a strong wood glue.
Marking each piece made putting it back together a snap! I made simple cushions and accent pillows to give it a cottage style. Total cost for this project was $40.00. I think that's a bargain for two chairs.

My Take on Pinterest- Rag Quilt
I currently have 92 pins on my Crafts Ideas board. I'm going to be busy for a very long time... This project is a rag quilt. The original can be found at Craftsy. It was fast and easy to make. Since it was my first attempt, I'm not going to worry too much about how disappointed I am about the frayed edges. I wanted more fraying! I'm sure it was due to the clipping step. Mental note... clip closer together. Next on my list... wooden chair makeover...

My Take on Pinterest- Shopping Tote
I've been collecting project ideas on Pinterest. As I complete a "stolen" idea, I post my take on it here. These shopping bags were made from faux oil cloth picnic tablecloths found at the Dollar General Store. The wonderful sherbet colors caught my eye. For $8 bucks, I made a giant beach bag and three large grocery bags.
They are washable; however, I didn't put them in the dryer.
This is one one I pinned. Click here for the pattern.

Week Eighteen of Fifty-two Weeks
We've had an early spring here in the bluegrass state. My husband and I went on a sneak peek hike through part of the not yet open Park Lands of Floyds Fork. Our guide gave an overview of this wonderful project! I snapped a few shots of found treasures. It's scheduled to open in 2015.

Week Seventeen of Fifty-two Weeks
While I was in Florida, my grandson celebrated his second birthday in style. We had an early afternoon pool party where cake was served. Later in the evening we ate dinner with Chef Mickey.

Donald visited our table while we were eating dinner.

Week Sixteen of Fifty-two Weeks
Sometimes an adventure comes in the form of a family gathering. My great niece celebrated her first birthday. She was "tickled pink" to pose for this photo... Her excitement made my day!

Pinterest Success! Tohoku Tote is a Keeper!
This polka dot cutie is my latest Pinterest inspired creation. I'm so pleased with the Tohoku Tote. The pattern and tutorial for it is at I Am Momma Hear Me Roar. She has done a great job illustrating how to make it. I think I have a new obsession...
